Sunshine Coast Falcons and Motiv8sports Sunshine Coast have joined forces to raise money for bushfire charities through a local kids sports event they’re hosting on Tuesday, January 21.
The SC Falcons & Motiv8sports Bushfire Relief Fundraiser at Kawana Sports Precinct will give primary school aged kids a fun morning of sports-based entertainment and clinics on the last week of school holidays.
One hundred per cent of proceeds from the event will go directly to Victorian firefighters, Red Cross and WIRES wildlife organisation.
SC Falcons CEO and former State of Origin player, Chris Flannery said they’re hoping to get as many kids as possible to the event, with all proceeds going to charity.
“We’re really excited to partner with Motiv8sports for this fantastic fundraising event and we’ll be raising funds to assist the bushfire crisis that’s going on in New South Wales, Victoria and the ACT at the moment.
“All proceeds from the event will go to the the firefighters, the volunteers and also the wildlife services that are dealing with these tragic events down south.”
Motiv8sports’ Managing Director Wallace Williams said the event also gives kids the opportunity to feel like they’re a part of making a difference.
“It’s great too because kids can feel like they’re contributing or doing their bit for the bushfire crisis, too.
“For thirty dollars, the kids can come along for a morning of our signature mash-up sports, slip ’n slides, indulge in some footy clinics with the awesome Falcons team while we pump the music, and have a great day out while raising money.
“It’s going to be an awesome morning, I encourage anyone with primary school aged kids to head to the website and grab some tickets so we can raise as much as possible, ” Mr Williams said.
