Glenn Ferguson AM named as Falcons New Chairman
The Vantage Building Group Falcons would like to announce that Glenn Ferguson AM will take over as the Sunshine Coast Falcons new Chairman.
Glenn is an experienced lawyer, and managing director of FC Lawyers, and has had a close association with the football club as a major sponsor of the Falcons for over 7 years.
“We have worked with Glenn and his team at FC Lawyers for a long time now and I’m excited to welcome Glenn to the Falcons Board as Chair. We have to navigate through a variety of complex situations over the next few years – a new NRL affiliation with the Brisbane Broncos, a new Stadium build and playing facility, new junior training facility at Nirimba, new Falcons Netball Club. While at the same time continuing to provide our local male and female rugby league players, coaches and staff, with a professional environment and pathway, to capitalise on further opportunities in the Rugby League space. Glenn’s areas of expertise and guidance will be highly valued throughout this period” CEO Chris Flannery said.
“Glenn has extensive experience in working with key stakeholders and various boards across different sectors to formulate and then implement their strategic vision and plans. His expertise in corporate governance, compliance, policy development and strategic thinking and risk management are major assets to our Club. On top of all of that he’s an avid sports fan and rugby league supporter which will certainly help” Flannery added.
“I am excited to join the Falcons Board as Chair and work with the other board members to continue the success of the club. I realise I have big shoes to fill with Ashley Robinson’s departure. He has left an incredible legacy. The Falcons have a strong presence in the community and have some big plans for the future and I’m looking forward to assisting with that vision and implementation. They receive wonderful support from local sponsors, Sunshine Coast Council, QRL, State Government and the NRL and I’m looking forward to meeting and working with all of those organisations to ensure that the Falcons are in a strong position going forward and can capitalise on any opportunities if and when they arise ” Ferguson said.
“The Football Club is fortunate to have such a professional group of staff and volunteers that are passionate about the Falcons right through from the CEO Chris Flannery, the coaches, medical, administration and volunteers . I really look forward to the season ahead and getting to know the incredible junior and senior athletes who represent the Falcons and the region.” Glenn added.
Glenn will take over immediately from Ashley Robinson who stepped down last week.
