SC Falcons 2024 BMD Team
Sunshine Coast Falcons Soar into BMD Premiership 2024
The Queensland Rugby League (QRL) has given the green light to the SC Falcons, confirming their inclusion in the BMD Premiership for 2024. This is a landmark decision, underlining the expansion and vibrancy of the competition.
2024 promises to be a significant year for the SC Falcons, who will field three women’s teams in the upcoming season. Along with their inaugural BMD Premiership team, they will also compete in the newly introduced u17s and the existing u19s competitions. This mirrors their men’s representation, showcasing teams in the u17s, u19s, and the Hostplus Cup.
“We’re thrilled to be given the green light for a BMD team for the 2024 season and look forward to making an impact from the get go,” SC Falcons CEO Chris Flannery said.
“We have so many talented female players here on the Sunshine Coast that I’m sure will be very excited by this announcement and we look forward to quickly building a strong squad for our inaugural BMD season. I’d also like to thank SCGRL president Jodi Price and Board for their support of our BMD program for 2024,” Flannery added.
Further to the announcement of the Falcons’ entry into the BMD Premiership, the SC Falcons have recently announced their coaching appointments for the junior teams for the upcoming season. The u19 women’s team will be under the expert guidance of Josh Shuttlewood, while Jo Kerr will coach the u17 team.
