Falcons Colts advance to the Preliminary Final on a mixed weekend for the club.
Unfortunately it wasn’t to be on Sunday for our Intrust Super Cup team with them going down to Redcliffe 40 – 20 in a tough match.
Whilst we didn’t play our best footy on the day we certainly played with a lot of heart and never gave up fighting – unfortunately the Dolphins were just a bit too good for us on the day.
It was great to retiring Falcons half Todd Murphy hit 1000 points with his final conversion of his outstanding career. Murph also finished as the Top Points Scorer for the competition with 156 points for the year. Nat McGavin and Luke Polselli also finished the year as equal top try scorers for the Intrust Super Cup competition with 12 tries each which is a fantastic effort from both players.
On Sunday our 4th placed Colts played the Minor Premiers the Wynnum Manly Seagulls at Wynnum and sensationally defeated them 36 – 16 to book their place in the Preliminary Final at Redcliffe on Saturday 2nd October.
They will play the winners out of Souths and Townsville who play this weekend.
Congratulations to Coach Jamie Vogler and to all of the Colts players and staff – good luck for the Prelim!
I will keep you updated as to how the Colts go and hopefully they can make it to the big dance on the 10th October at Redcliffe.
Thank you for all of your support over the course of the season it is truly appreciated by all of the Falcons players and staff and I look forward to seeing you all again next season for another massive year of Falcons Footy Action!
Kind regards,
Chris
